Who we are

About GLP-1 Healthcare

GLP-1 Healthcare is an independent resource for people considering, starting, or already taking a GLP-1 medication — and for the families helping them. We turn a confusing, fast-moving, and expensive topic into clear answers you can act on.

Why we exist

GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide have changed how obesity and type 2 diabetes are treated, but reliable, plain-language information about them is scattered across manufacturer marketing, competing telehealth brands, and forums. People deserve one place that explains costs, dosing, side effects, and how to find legitimate care — without an agenda to sell them a specific product.

What makes us different

Who operates this site, and from where

GLP-1 Healthcare is published under the name GLP-1 Healthcare Group, from 208 Ponsonby Road, Ponsonby, Auckland 1011, New Zealand. Full postal and email details are on the contact page.

That is a trading name rather than a registered company, and we would rather say so than let the wording imply otherwise. It means there is currently no companies-register entry to look us up in — a real gap, and one we would close before asking anyone to take our word for anything that matters.

We state that plainly because the content is not written for New Zealand. Every clinical and cost figure on this site is American — FDA-approved labelling, Medicare and insurance pathways, prices in US dollars, state-by-state telehealth coverage — and a reader in Ohio is entitled to know that the people writing it are not in Ohio. What that means in practice is that we work only from primary sources anyone can check for themselves — the FDA, DailyMed, CMS, and the peer-reviewed literature — and we do not write about anything we cannot source that way. Distance is a reason to be stricter about sourcing, not a reason to be vaguer about it.

Where we are today

We have been publishing since 2026-07-24. We are an early-stage, independently operated publisher building toward becoming the definitive GLP-1 reference. We are actively recruiting credentialed medical reviewers — physicians, pharmacists, and registered dietitians — to review our clinical content. Until a page is reviewed by a named clinician, it says so. Our full standards are in our Editorial Policy.

What we have not got yet

A short site should be candid about its gaps, because the alternative is letting a reader assume it has things it does not. Three of them are worth naming.

Are you a qualified clinician?

We’re looking for board-certified physicians, pharmacists, and dietitians with experience in obesity medicine, endocrinology, or metabolic health to review content under their own name and credentials. If that’s you, we’d like to talk.

Important

GLP-1 Healthcare provides general educational information. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for care from your own qualified healthcare provider. Never start, stop, or change a medication based solely on what you read here.
