Most of this site is written to be true whenever you read it. Some things are not like that — a rule changes, a trial reports, a price moves. Those go here, dated, so you can see when something became true rather than only that it is.
What goes here, and what does not
There is one test: does the date matter? If you need to know when something became true, it belongs here. If the subject is true regardless of when you arrive, it belongs on a reference page and putting it here would only bury it.
That rules out a good deal. Background on obesity in the United States is not an update — it is a subject, and it already lives on our statistics page with its sources and dates. We are not going to republish it here in instalments to look busy.
- New evidence — a trial or publication lands and changes what can honestly be said.
- Regulatory — a rule changed, or is about to.
- Pricing — what something costs moved.
- Directory verification — we re-checked every provider record and this is what moved.
