The form is the price
Most cost comparisons for this molecule compare providers. The larger difference is the form. Semaglutide is sold as a weekly injection, as a daily tablet, and — outside the approved system — as compounded liquid in a vial. Those three are not the same product at different prices; they are different products, and only two of them have been through the FDA.
The tablet is the cheap one. At $149 a month direct from the manufacturer it undercuts the pen of the same drug, and all but 1 of the 5 compounded telehealth totals we have been able to derive. That is the single most counter-intuitive fact about this molecule’s pricing, and it is the reason this page leads with form rather than with a provider list.
The exception is named rather than rounded away, because a claim like that one is only worth making if it survives being counted: Mochi Health at $139 a month. Read the billing period before you treat that as settled — a programme priced per four-week supply needs thirteen of them to cover a year, not twelve.
It is also the figure with an expiry attached. NovoCare states the tier covering the 4 mg dose rises to $199 a month after 31 August 2026, and that its pricing will be updated after that date. We track changes like that in the log of what changed and when.

There is no generic semaglutide either
If the tablet price is what brought you here, the next question is usually whether a generic would be cheaper still. It would — and there is not one. On 2026-08-21 the FDA’s label data showed semaglutide approved under NDA209637 and NDA215256, with no abbreviated application: no ANDA, no generic.
The trap here is specific to this molecule, because compounded semaglutide is so widely sold that the two words get used interchangeably. They describe opposite things. A generic is approved and proven equivalent to the original; a compounded preparation has been reviewed for identity, purity and sterility by nobody at all. That is set out in what compounded actually means.
A generic GLP-1 does exist, on a different molecule: liraglutide has 8 approved generics, sold as Victoza and Saxenda, and exenatide has 1 approved generic, sold as Byetta. Those are older drugs with smaller published results, so it is a trade rather than a shortcut, and the same answer applies on the tirzepatide side.
